This is not an offering
This is not an offering is a series of paintings that reimagines the women of the Tanach, not as passive figures or symbols of virtue, but as humans who ask to be seen on their own terms, beyond the limits of traditional narratives and inherited interpretations.
These works don’t aim for reverence or redemption. The women portrayed, She’ila bat Yiftach, Dinah, the Levite’s concubine, and others, have often been treated as background or sacrifice.
This series is my attempt to push back. They’re not here to be consumed, forgiven, or explained. Don’t look for holiness or comfort here. This is not about piety. It’s about facing what the text and interpretation leave unsaid.
