This is not an offering

This Is Not an Offering gathers a series of paintings that return to women who appear within the Tanach.

I approach these figures through their lived presence, staying with the conditions of their lives as they unfold inside the text and around it. My aim is to slow down the narrative of inherited stories, giving time to what accumulates in the female body and remains unarticulated.

The women in this series include She’ila bat Yiftach, Dinah, the Levite’s concubine, among others. They enter the work through sustained looking and repeated engagement. Their presence forms through posture, surface, and duration, carrying the weight of experience without resolution.

I work within the space the text leaves open. The paintings hold attention on what is often passed over quickly, allowing these women to exist fully within that inheritance. Meaning emerges through continued return, through the act of looking again and staying with what has not been given language.
